Ziya G. Boyacigiller
"Ziya Boyacigiller is a technology and management consultant for high-tech businesses. He also makes early-stage investments in technology driven start-up companies, and works with them as a mentor or director.
Most recently, he was a Business Unit Vice President at Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM), a NASDAQ 100 semiconductor company. Boyacigiller joined Maxim in 1983 as a co-founder and served in various technical and executive management capacities for 17 years. In 1983, he joined Maxim Integrated Products Inc. as one of the founding members, where he developed technology and products to help grow Maxim to $600M in 15 years. He moved from engineering to business management in 1988 and set up Maxim’s product management and strategic planning organization. From 1993 to 2000, Ziya started and directed Maxim's Signal Processing and Data Conversion Business Unit (as a Vice President and an Officer), growing it to over $300M in revenue, averaging 30% growth per year, at near 80% gross margins.
Prior to Maxim, Boyacigiller started E/Z CAD Inc., a pioneer in the PC-based electronics design tools industry. Before E/Z CAD, Boyacigiller worked at Intersil Inc., Sunnyvale CA, where he worked on industry’s first CMOS laser trimmed DACs and CMOS mixed-signal circuits. He designed the world’s first 14bit 25us analog to digital converter (ADC), using EPROM calibration, digital error correction, and non-binary radix (1.85) - when the state-of-art was a 10bit /100us ADC.
Boyacigiller holds an MSc in Engineering from UCLA in analog circuit design and computer sciences, and a bachelor of science degree from Bosphorus University, Istanbul."
